Fatty, dull and lifeless hair can take the fun out of styling your hair. Is daily shampooing the only solution for thin hair (yes, it does lose its freshness the fastest)? Not at all. Just follow our styling tips and you won’t have to wash your hair more often than every other day

What Causes Fatty Hair? In addition to hormonal, dietary and genetic reasons, the list includes environmental pollution, overheated radiators, the drop in temperature outside and stress. However, there are a few tricks that will help you to keep your hair looking fresh for a little longer than a day. What are some of the tricks of the trade?

What do you do to keep your hair greasy?

First, wash your hair properly

Sounds strange. Well, at first we too wondered how we could ever do it wrong. But now we know that it’s a perfectly plausible scenario. So how do you clean your hair properly? First of all, make sure you wash your scalp, not your hair. Massage the shampoo into your hair with your fingertips while massaging your scalp. Rinse afterwards with warm (not hot!) water.

Second: Use the Right Cosmetics

It may seem obvious, but we all have a guilty conscience about buying shampoos and conditioners full of chemicals. Silicones and parabens may make your hair look great at first glance but unfortunately, it quickly loses its shine. If you have oily hair, you may want to avoid using anti-frizz or straightening products. Why? The reason is that these products contain oils, which are deposited on the scalp, penetrate it and cause more sebum to be produced. We probably don’t need to explain to you what happens next…

Thirdly: love cool water

Now, we are not encouraging you to wash your hair under a cold stream. We mean the last rinse with a cool stream. Hot water causes more sebum to be produced. Cold water, on the other hand, stimulates your circulation, prevents oil production and gives your hair more shine.

Fourth: Wash your hair in the morning and… not every day

Yes, we know. You want to clean your oily hair every day. But beware – this is not the key to success. Why? Your scalp needs to have at least a little bit of oil. If you “wipe” that layer off every 24 hours, you’ll cause your skin to produce twice as much sebum. So it’s best to tie your hair up every other day. And when that’s not possible, use dry shampoo. Still wondering why evening shampooing isn’t the best solution? There is a good chance that if you go to bed with your hair freshly shampooed, you’ll wake up in the morning with the hair style, which was shaped by your pillow

Fifth: Avoid blow-drying your hair with hot air

The situation is similar to that of a hot shower. Such blow-drying will only increase sebum production. And the problem will still be there… on your head.

Sixth: Cut back on sugars

Sugar is harmful – we all know that. But not everyone is aware that sugar not only causes cellulite and pimples but also fatty hair in terms of beauty. So, if you want to have more beautiful hair, reach for vegetables and fruits instead of cookies or chocolates.
