For autumn and winter our closet needs a complete change. First of all, we need to bury deep into the closet all the sandals and ballerinas, and in their place pull out warmer shoes. But what to wear them with? See our 3 ideas for styling with boots.
Let’s start with what kind of boots we will be wearing this autumn/winter 2021/2022 season. Fashion week catwalks were dominated by heavy boots resembling military boots, the so-called combat boots, which have been trendy for several seasons thanks to Bottega Venta house. The catwalks were also dominated by slip-on platform boots with an elastic insert, which appeared among others at Versace and Simone Rocha
The colors are also worth noting. The most fashionable colors this season are beige, taupe, khaki, brown and timeless black. Metallic shoes also made a comeback – we could see gold and silver boots at Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham or Dolce&Gabbana, among others. Snake skin boots have also been fashionable for several seasons
You already know what this season’s footwear trends are, but how to style them?
A great idea is to combine ankle boots with a dress. Matching heavy models, such as combat boots, with delicate and airy dresses with subtle floral patterns, especially those with a maxi length, is definitely a hit. This combination creates quite a strong contrast and adds character and spice to the outfit. Wear a warm sheepskin coat or a thick leather jacket as outerwear. Of course, don’t forget about tights – you don’t want to freeze, do you?
Add accessories such as chunky jewelry and a clutch bag and you’ll look just like on the catwalk. Remember that this combination will work not only in autumn and winter. You may just as well choose boots for summer or boots for spring, and leave your warm jacket at home or change it for a light jacket or oversize denim katana.
If you want to add a typically academic touch to your outfit, you can go for lace-up or slip-on platform boots. Pair them with a white oversize (or simply men’s) shirt and a knitted vest. The most fashionable will be brown, black and deep blue shades
Wear checked fabric pants, preferably with a halter top, or a short straight skirt and classic black tights. You can also match this outfit with a vintage jacket. As an outerwear option, go for a long woollen coat. To add even more character to your outerwear look, you can also match it with a beret and some soft, old-fashioned jewelry
Total looks, i.e. one-coloured outfits, are also a good way to wear boots. Boots may shorten the silhouette, especially in the case of short women. If you match lower parts of your outfit, for example pants or skirt and tights, with the color of boots, your silhouette, and especially legs, will be optically elongated. So if you want your silhouette to look phenomenal, go for an all-black outfit. It will not only look great but also very elegant. Additionally, such one-color total looks are always in fashion, so you can be sure that you will look stylish.
