Would you like to spend a few hours in a beauty salon, but you have no time or because of restrictions you do not want to leave home? It’s worth knowing how to take care of your skin yourself, at home, where the caring and relaxing hands of a beautician won’t reach us.

When it comes to skin care, it is very important to develop good daily habits. This is the most important thing you need to do. Plan a certain routine for yourself.

You need to start with cleansing, of course. When washing your face, remember not to stretch your skin. Just moisten it with warm water and apply the gel, emulsion or foam with light movements. If you need an extra cleansing effect, wipe your skin with a terry towel while rinsing.

For starters, know that you shouldn’t apply moisturizers to skin that is completely dry. Preparing yourself a ‘primer’ for the cream is key. Specialists have one rule – we gradually use successive cosmetics, from the lightest to the heaviest, with many nourishing ingredients.

It is best to use a hydrolate, for example from chamomile or witch hazel or thermal/micellar water. A serum can also serve as a cream primer.

Second in line is the delicate skin around the eyes. To avoid irritating it, gently pat the eye cream on with only the fingertips of your ring fingers. Make sure that the eye area is always well moisturized, use a good quality moisturizer with caffeine or peptides to make the skin surface more even and at least temporarily smooth out facial wrinkles. Adding some products with vitamins A and C won’t hurt – they’ll help lighten the dark circles under your eyes by a few tones.

After that, apply a moisturizer, and if you need an extra brightening or moisturizing effect, an oil as well. You can apply skincare products in layers, just remember to wait a while for the first layer to absorb well.

The last step depends on the time of day. If it’s morning, apply sunscreen at the end. Regardless of the time of year or the weather outside the window, UVA-protective sunscreen should be applied daily. Makeup applied over the sunscreen should be light so as not to reduce its effectiveness. In the evening, just before going to bed, use a retinoid – a product with retinol, or vitamin A. Why in the evening? Vitamin A exposed to the sun can cause serious irritation or discoloration of our skin. Applied at the end of the day, as the last layer of care, it will help prevent redness and dryness.

Note, the neck should be cared for with the same zeal as the face!

Cosmetologists use the term “technical neck syndrome” for a reason. It comes from the fact that we are constantly looking down at our phone and computer screens, from this we have more wrinkles on our neck than before the digital age.

Cosmetologists repeat: the neck requires the same daily care as the face – cleansing, moisturizing, extra care. The skin in this area produces less sebum and there is little subcutaneous fat, so it quickly becomes thinner and fades. Therefore, it needs better nutrition and hydration. For this purpose, a saturating dose of lipids (fatty acids), hyaluronic acid and a cocktail of peptides have been added to the new skin care products for this special area.

Whatever your skin type, make sure that the product you choose does not clog pores, that is, does not stimulate sebum secretion.
