Well-groomed and healthy hair is an amazing asset that many women dream about. For this reason, we focus more and more on proper care and selection of cosmetics. But healthy hair does not only depend on external care. It is also influenced by diet. This article will tell you what to eat and drink to enjoy beautiful and thick hair

Maintaining a poor diet has an impact on the entire body. It has a negative impact on our mood, weakens the immune system and causes various diseases. It also does not spare the hair, whose condition sends us signals – for example, in the form of loss of density and hair loss – that something needs to be changed. What should we eat to have thick hair?

Protein-rich foods

The amino acids, which are contained in high-protein foods, have a great influence on the condition of the scalp. If you skip them in your diet, your hair will lose its condition and start to fall out. To prevent this from happening, introduce poultry meat, good quality fish and a variety of dairy products into your diet. If you follow a vegan diet, you should eat quinoa, legumes and products made from them, as well as amaranth

Antioxidants

Antioxidants have a significant impact on the condition of our hair. There is a reason why they are ingredients in many hair care cosmetics. They minimize the effects of so called oxidative stress, i.e. imbalance between free radicals, which leads to weakening and hair loss. Products rich in antioxidants are for example tomatoes, peppers, melon, spinach, broad beans and berries. It is worth reaching for them in your diet to enjoy beautiful hair for many years.

Do not forget about vitamins

Vitamins are one of the first things that come to mind when hair problems arise. It is a good shot because they have an amazing effect on the condition of the entire body, including the hair. You can go to the drugstore for a set of vitamins, but there is no need to. You can just as well supply them by eating a proper diet

Vitamin A stimulates hair growth. Its deficiency causes dryness and brittleness of hair. To provide it, eat broccoli, pumpkin, cabbage, and carrots. You can also reach for tomatoes, oranges, and if you like – liver!

Vitamin C – the most popular during autumn and winter because we use it prophylactically to prevent colds and flu. Its deficiency causes hair to break and split ends. Citrus fruits are rich in it, but also kale, peppers, berries and raspberries.

Vitamin E – this is a vitamin that accelerates hair growth and takes care of its hydration. You can find it in oilseeds, green vegetables, eggs and nuts.

What not to eat when your hair falls out

It is worth giving up a few things in your diet if you are struggling with thin hair. To make them healthier and stop falling out, reduce the amount of coffee you drink and highly processed foods. You should also reduce the amount of sugar and heavy metals you consume.
