1.You use too much product and apply too many layers
Tell me, how many times do you have to put the brush into the mascara brush to get as much mascara out of your lashes as possible? Rest assured, we probably all do it. But it’s worth stopping. Why? Well, for one thing, lots of product means a high risk of clumps. Plus, the more layers you put on your lashes, the harder it is to shape them. Make-up artists suggest applying only two coats, which means you only have to take the brush out of the packaging once..
2.You keep taking the brush in and out
While on the subject of taking the brush in and out… Did you know that doing so allows air to enter the mascara and makes the product dry more quickly? And again – dried out mascara means lumps on your lashes.
3.You apply mascara on your lashes in a straight line – from the roots to the tips
Mascarais applied from the bottom to the top of the lashes, all in a straight line. Sounds normal and logical, right? Well, unfortunately wrong. Why? The thing is, lashes don’t grow completely vertically, so it’s best to run the brush in a zigzag motion. This will keep the hairs well separated and prevent the maxara from sticking together. It is also worth keeping in mind that it is better to apply less product at the roots. This will make the look more fresh.
